In this yoga asana the body is drawn up into a position that
resembles a bow. Practicing this posture can relieve back stress
and
pain as it brings strength and flexibility to the spine. In this
posture the
weight of the body is on the abdomen.
The hands are extended back to grasp the ankles. On the inhale
breath the student then slowly raises the knees off the floor
and simultaneously lifts the chest and tilts the head back as
far as possible.
